Situated at the mouth of the Chagres River, San Lorenzo is the site of one of the earliest forts on the Isthmus of Panamá. The original fort dates from the 1570s, but most of the structures we see now are fortifications from World War II. San Lorenzo is at the other end of the road from Shelter Bay.
